About Us

About the Group

The NELBDG was formed in 1997 with the sole aim of promoting the sport of Badminton. The group now consists of four club; the NELBDG, SBC (Scartho Badminton Club), GyTBC (Grimsby Town Badminton Club) and CBC (Cleethorpes Badminton Club).

Over the years we have established ourselves as one of the most progressive Sport Groups in the area, forming links and partnerships with many sporting associations such as: NELC Sports Development Unit, NELC School Sports Partnership, Active Coaches and Clubs association, several school partnerships and J W Sports.

We have grown from just one small club with just a few members, to one of the largest badminton clubs in the Country, with over 500 members (350 juniors and 180 adults) now operating twenty clubs and coaching sessions.

We offer a full range of services for the sport of badminton, ranging from, clubs, coaching, equipment sales and a re-string and racket repair service.

We run at least one club every day of the week, all year round. Clubs catering for every age and gender, clubs for the beginner, the intermediate and the advanced player, clubs for schools, clubs for families and a disability club.

We offer professional coaching from fully qualified and registered Badminton England coaching staff and for those interested in the challenge of competition, we run two local badminton leagues.

We are affiliated to Badminton England and registered members of the NELC Active Coaches and Active Clubs Associations.

We are also members of the National "Can Do" scheme for those who qualify to use their funding.

Whatever the level you play at, from beginner to advanced, we have a club or a session for YOU, so please contact us for more information.
